Welcome!

JadesourceJust what is outsourcing, really?

For most people, outsourcing means finding a person in a foreign country, training them to do something that is too expensive to afford locally, and hopefully developing a relationship with them where they serve you for years. Easy, right?

The reality is that those of us who have done it have found that it is hard even on the best of days. (See my blog post on “Aggravation Costs“)

Why?  3 Reasons:

  • TRAINING – How can I get my outsourcer to do this? Will the result be worth the effort?
  • COMMUNICATION – Consider a real world example (happened to me several years ago)
    I said to my outsourcer
“I need a blue background, please.”
    My outsourcer replies,
“Yes Mr. Singley, we are so grateful for this work, we will give you the best green background you have ever seen!”
“No, I need a blue background”
“Yes, thank you, we are so pleased, we love green it is our favorite color.”
  • RELIABILITY -How often have we found an outsourcer, provided materials to them, and had them just disappear, possibly after we paid them? Often that is not due to anything other than the outsourcer being afraid to admit they are behind, or cannot do the work, etc.

THE JADESOURCE MISSION:

Jade and I started JadeSource in late May of 2011 but we set out to do something more than start an outsourcing company. We set out to solve common outsourcing problems for our customers once and for all.

  1. NO COMMUNICATIONS PROBLEMS:
All jobs are explained and disseminated to Jade in American English. Either verbally via Skype or via email.  Your jobs are assigned to her, and she ensures that they are done to your standards.
  2. NO TRAINING PROBLEMS:
We train our staff to do your tasks:

Currently we are building and promoting websites for several teaching methods. Instead of our clients looking for Virtual Personal Assistants and hoping for the best, they train us and work with us to bring the staff up to speed. Far more efficient and the work can be done by one of several people available instead of relying on one assistant.
  3. NO DISAPPEARING STAFF PROBLEMS:
    We won’t disappear!

Like all outsource companies, we have problems of disappearing staff. But that is not your problem as a client. JadeSource is responsible for your work, not the individual outsourcer. We ensure that it gets done.
As a side note please see my explanation of Hiya (Philippine term for Shame)

Often the outsourcer is well intended, but for cultural reasons cannot tell you they cannot complete the work. We are less sensitive to this in the West.

Part of JadeSource’s value is in understanding how to work with Philippine culture and social manners to get the best workers for your job, so that it is a win-win.

Have you thought of offering to set up multi sites for ATB? It looks like it would be easy with practice, but there are a lot of videos to watch and some might be willing to pay for it.
